At the Crossroads

Reflections on transformation, leadership, and religious life

A quiet space for leaders, communities, and seekers standing at thresholds — where old forms are loosening, new life is trying to emerge, and deeper questions can no longer be postponed.

Why this space

Many communities today are standing at a crossroads.

The old maps are not useless. But they are no longer enough. Religious life, faith-based leadership, and the wider human family are being invited into a deeper kind of transformation — one that asks for honesty, courage, grief, imagination, and trust.

At the Crossroads is a place for occasional reflections, brief essays, podcasts, videos, and resources on transformation, leadership, discernment, and the future of religious life.

Reflections From the Crossroads

These brief reflections are written for leaders, communities, and companions in transformation. They are meant to be read slowly, shared in council or community conversation, and returned to when the questions underneath the questions begin to surface.

Start here: Seeing With New Eyes

The first reflection in this series invites us to consider what it means to look again at our lives, our communities, and the future trying to emerge among us.

A word from Ted

After many years of writing, facilitating, teaching, and walking with religious communities, I am creating this space as a way to stay connected and to keep sharing what I am seeing.

Some of these reflections will draw from my books and articles. Some will emerge from current conversations with leaders and communities. Some will simply ask the questions that seem to be asking us.

I hope this becomes a useful place to pause, listen, and look again.
